The BOPP Management Committee are pleased to announce the release of the BOPP Ornamental Packhouse Standard Version 6.

A review / benchmarking exercise was recently completed ensuring that the standard's control points and compliance criteria continue to be robust, are up to date and in line with other similar standards, both within the ornamental industry and within the wider agriculture and manufacturing industries.

Areas such as bio-security, plant health, traceability, data protection and ethical standards have been a particular focus. Where applicable, a more focused risk assessment-based approach has been written in to the standard, particularly with respect to controlling product quality, safety and legality.

HTA and BOPP members who use the Ornamental Packhouse Standard will have a three-month transition period to implement the new changes beginning on the 1st April 2019. This means that as from the 1st July 2019 packhouse audits will be conducted based on the control points and compliance criteria in BOPP Ornamental Packhouse Standard Version 6.0.
