National Garden Gift Voucher Photography Competition
A fun competition to share with your customers
Running from 19 June until 13 October 2019, the competition is open to the public, garden centres and their staff. It’s a fun way of keeping gardens and gardening in people’s minds over summer and autumn. We’re looking for six garden-themed photos to use on our National Garden Gift Voucher wallets and cards. And what better way to do this than through a competition you can promote to consumers. You may have noticed some of last year’s winning images on the front of the gift voucher wallets and gift cards!

Something to share with your customers
There's a big overlap between interest in gardening and interest in photography, so we're confident that this will appeal to keen gardeners. It’s a good 'excuse' to contact your customers over summer and autumn, and we'll also be promoting the competition to the general public on social media.
We're also using the competition to raise awareness of Greenfingers Charity as part of the agreement we have to use the National Garden Gift Voucher scheme to this end. As a small charity, Greenfingers cannot afford mass advertising to the gardening public, so this really helps them get in front of millions of shoppers a year. Since National Garden Gift Voucher and Gift Card purchasers are 78% more likely to belong to a charity than the average UK adult, we’re sure this association with Greenfingers will appeal to customers and deliver a massive benefit to this wonderful charity.
- The grand prize winner will receive a framed print of their photo, National Garden Gift Vouchers to the value of £500 and 2 tickets to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2020.
- Five winners will each receive a framed print of their photo and National Garden Gift Vouchers to the value of £100.
- Highly commended entrants will each receive a £10 National Garden Gift Voucher.
How to promote the competition
All you need to do is invite your customers or staff to take part. They take and submit photos. It all takes place online, so other than promoting the competition there's nothing for you to do in terms of admin. Feel free to promote the competition in any emails, newsletters or social media activity you're doing. You can do this by sharing the link below to the competition website in communications:
You can download website banners, flyers and posters to print and use in your store or offices too. You just need to click on this link and save the files to your computer.
How the public can enter
All the information needed to enter and submit photos is on the National Garden Gift Voucher web site. Anyone in the UK or Republic of Ireland can enter by uploading their photos and registering their contact details before the closing date on 13 October 2019. This can all be found at:
