The Association of Professional Landscapers has had a long tradition of supporting the Classiflora Open Days, and after a break last year we are back again with another evening filled with some great information and let’s not forget the superb Italian cuisine.

This networking event is placed towards the end of the day, so you can still get a good mornings work in and then come along late afternoon, and at just £20 + vat is exceptional value.

This year we have manage to secure “Dusty Gedge” http://dustygedge.co.uk/. Dusty will provide delegates with an inspiring talk on the why’s and how’s of green infrastructure on and around buildings in the urban realm. Much of the design choices on buildings are dictated by engineering considerations but how do we challenge this to ensure that performance - in terms of biodiversity, long-term viability and water lead the process. To achieve this we need to understand what is achievable and how can these be argued through good design.

From green roofs to rain gardens via walls, the talk will provide a plethora of examples and an overview of some of the decisions, techniques and design concepts used to take these projects from thought to realisation.

Dusty has a track record of working with Urban Green Infrastructure in the Urban Realm. He has also travelled across the globe as a speaker, looking at how other practitioners take similar ideas forward.

The session will be of benefit to contractors and designers and is open to all, both members and non-members of APL

Fun, informative and challenging not to be missed. On top of this, the event is always a fantastic networking event, that every year we have held  it, people always come back for more.
