HTA Marketing Forum: The power of social

Places are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. This event is open to all businesses and costs £149 for HTA members to attend (£199 for non-members).

Julie’s talk will focus on creating marketing strategies for your business, to help you plan your marketing activities and ensure they align with your business goals.
Julie is a recognised expert in digital marketing, providing marketing training for over 16 years. She teaches strategies that can be applied by small businesses to get real results. She is also collaborating with the HTA to bring her digital and social media marketing strategies to members across the UK as part of our one-day Autumn Workshops.  



Huw will be talking us through the ‘how to’ of YouTubing and the business benefits of using video in your digital marketing.
Huw runs the social media for Huws Nursery, including his successful YouTube channel ‘HuwsNursery’ which has over 150,000 subscribers. He posts regular tutorials on how to grow food inexpensively, with an emphasis on reducing the workload required.



Edwin will be sharing cases of garden retailers he’s worked with to explain how to increase footfall and online sales using social media & search engine optimisation. His session will be packed with actionable tips and tricks to make sure you hit the top of Google!
As the founder of Garden Connect with over 17 years’ experience in garden retail online marketing, Edwin can give a unique insight into trends, cases and best practices.


Tasmin will be talking about avenues through which the industry can engage with the Garden Media Guild to shape useful content. As well as being the co-chair of the Garden Media Guild Tamsin lectures in the UK and abroad, specialising in practical horticulture and is a director and gardener at Stockton Bury Gardens in Herefordshire.



Simone will be going back to basics in her session on Facebook and Instagram for beginners. She manages a wide range of social media campaigns across all major platforms; providing social media training and strategies for small to medium businesses, as well as social listening and content supply.



Lee will be talking about the use of social media, including podcasts and Instagram.
Lee Connelly is The Skinny Jean Gardener, starting his career building a kitchen garden for Jimmy Doherty and going on to become the Blue Peter gardener, he has since created one of the biggest gardening podcasts in the UK with over 100,000 listeners.



Dave will be taking us on a journey of the evolution of customer targeting, and how social media platforms now enable us to target consumers in ever more in-depth ways. He’ll be taking a look at how different consumers use social media to source gardening inspiration and how you can use campaigns on social media to promote customer engagement.
