Do you know a Gardening Hero?

Know a member of staff in a garden business that goes above and beyond to support gardening or gardening good causes? Perhaps they volunteer in the community gardening projects or with school gardening projects? Maybe they fundraise or support a gardening charity? We'd love to recognise these staff for all the hard work they do daily.

About the Gardening Hero scheme

We want you to tell us about your colleagues' fundraising or support for gardening good causes; we'd be proud to recognise and thank them or the team with a £50 award in the form of a National Garden Gift voucher gift card. All gardening heroes will be sent a Gardening Hero badge; make sure you look out for local gardening heroes near you. Award winners will be announced in HTA News and will also be featured on this page.

How to nominate your hero

If you'd like to nominate a Gardening Hero please fill out the below form or email marketing@hta.org.uk with details of why you think your nominee deserves to be a Gardening hero.

This month’s gardening hero is…

Frankie Banting from Hambrooks, the Garden Design, Landscaping & Maintenance company based in Titchfield, Hampshire.

Managing Director, Norman Hambrook, comments: “Through the adaption of our existing Show Gardens Frankie's foresight, creative vision, energy and commitment has utilised the benefit of gardens, plants and flowers to forge partnerships with local charities. The gardens have played a major role in helping the charities to raise both awareness and funds. We hosted a Charity Firewalk at our Garden Design & Landscape Centre in Titchfield and raised £8k!”
“Additionally, Frankie is instrumental in creating several child-centric events in the gardens for children to learn not only how to plant seeds and vegetables, but also with the hope the activities will help to encourage a love of gardening.”
