The APL will return to Hampton Court in 2021 with its garden “A Place To Meet Again”
The title of the garden has turned out to be even more poignant, with a nation and the show slowly emerging from lockdown, and meeting up again is something we all look forward to.
The Garden in the “Lifestyle Category” of the show has been designed by MAPL member Mike Long Garden Design.
The design encompasses an area to lounge, an area to stand and have drinks as well as a water feature and other repurposed features to create interest throughout the scheme. Main paths will be laid in a smooth paving with Dutch style pavers breaking up the hard landscaping into different areas.
The design also sets out to demonstrate just a few ideas on how we can repurpose items for use in a domestic garden. Whilst some elements focus on up cycling, it is not strictly about saving waste. We really hope that people will be inspired to look at objects and their applications in new and exciting, creative ways.
As in 2019 The Association aim to make this a truly collaborative project, with many APL members having their 1st opportunity to be involved in a show garden build. Currently we have 24 APL members confirmed and some are bringing apprentices and trainees to gain the experience.
Phil Tremayne APL General Manager said “ The APL Community is a massive asset to association and being able to give companies an opportunity like this is fantastic. Having this amount of support from the members is truly amazing, having all that expertise on site at one time is excellent.”
Of course this couldn’t have been achieved without our sponsors. Once again Farnborough based “Kebur Garden Materials” agreed to be headline sponsor. But we also have received sponsorship so far from Creepers Nurseries, Landscape Plus and Form Plants.
We hope you will visit Hampton Court this year and remember: we are a great place to meet.
