The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IFATE) has just opened a Route Review into the Agriculture, Environmental and Animal Care training pathways, which includes most of our horticultural, landscape, arboricultural and sports turf activity for Apprenticeships and T’Levels.
The Occupational Map outlines the occupations in the industry which are used to shape Apprenticeship Standards and T’Level Occupational Specialisms. It is what dictates the government-based training which will be available to learners in our industry, and is therefore of significant importance. It provides us with an opportunity to ensure that the industry is correctly represented and resourced with training from levels 2 to 7. Individual apprenticeship standards in our sector will also be reviewed to ensure they meet the needs of employers and apprentices.
The consultation runs from the 9th October to the 4th December 2019 and can be accessed here.
