Offer flexible payment options with Retail Finance
Help customers spread the cost of higher-value purchases with interest-free finance from Novuna.
What is the retail finance scheme?
The HTA has partnered with Novuna Personal Finance to provide members with access to a retail finance solution designed for garden centres and horticultural retailers.
The scheme enables customers to spread the cost of eligible purchases, making higher-value products more accessible while supporting sales opportunities for your business.
- Interest-Free Credit: Offer your customers up to 10 months interest-free credit.
- Support higher-value purchases: Make higher-value purchases of £250 or more highly accessible.
- There are no setup fees to join the scheme: The HTA has done the work—there are no setup fees to join the scheme.
- Flexible Integration: Use it in-store or online. It can function as a standalone system (via a simple online form on a laptop or tablet) or be fully integrated into your existing EPOS till system.
Exclusive HTA Member Rates: Because this is an HTA preferred partner scheme, we have negotiated the most competitive Novuna rates available in the horticulture sector.
Note: The competitive rate card is available upon application.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
The proposition is for those retailers with a turnover of +£500k per annum.
There is no up-front or set-up cost as the proposition has been negotiated by the HTA.
Novuna applies a subsidy against the goods amount, which will vary by basket value, e.g £250-£499, £500-£999, etc.
(NB. If you wish to undertake a full EPOS and/or online integration, you will need to consider your own IT and partner costs)
Yes the up to 10 months interest free option is non-regulated and compliant. If you wish to offer terms longer than 10 months then the proposition becomes regulated and requires your business to become FCA compliant (Novuna can advise on this process)
No. The proposition can be offered to consumers based on any basket value’s over £250.00. Retailers may opt to focus on furniture, BBQ’s or higher ticket price trees, but from a Novuna perspective, they are agnostic to product category.
For launch, the HTA proposition is a non-regulated financial product that allows agreements to be up to 10 months term. Retailers can offer 4, 6, 8 or 10 months, but for simplicity, we expect most to launch with a simple 10-month interest-free offer. To offer agreement terms longer than 10 months, you as a company will be required to become an FCA-regulated company.
In order to offer agreement terms longer than 10 months, e.g. 36 months interest free or interest bearing, you must become FCA regulated as a company. The HTA’s preferred partner Novuna can advise you on the process and recommend a company who can support you on that procedural journey.
As long as the consumer onboarding process has been followed correctly, Novuna will have completed their procedural checks on the consumer, therefore Novuna will bear the credit risk of the agreement.
Novuna will remit funds to the Retailer in respect of a Consumer Credit Agreement (using BACS) so that cleared funds will be made available within 5 Business Days (including the day of receipt of payment request, where the request is received before 3.30pm).
