Finance Manager

Are you looking for a role where you can make a meaningful impact while advancing your expertise in financial management? The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) is looking for a Finance Manager to join our finance team, who is eager to apply their financial expertise in a purpose-driven environment.

In this varied role, you will work closely with the CFO to lead our finance team, overseeing essential functions such as financial reporting, compliance, and audit processes. You will also play a crucial role in managing our unique and diverse income streams, which include membership fees and other revenue. Working with cutting-edge tools such as Sage Intacct and Microsoft Dynamics (CRM), you will have the opportunity to innovate and enhance our financial systems, integrating data across platforms to support informed decision-making and operational efficiency.

This position offers a unique opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who wants to make a tangible difference in a mission-driven organisation. You’ll not only lead a dedicated team but also actively contribute to projects that strengthen the HTA’s financial health and future growth.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting within complex organisations and experience managing or supporting audit processes. Familiarity with managing diverse revenue streams is essential, and experience with financial software like Sage Intacct will be a significant advantage. You should have a proactive, analytical mindset with an eye for detail, complemented by strong communication skills that allow you to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation.

This is a full-time office-based role with hybrid-working options whereby you can work from home up to 2 days/week once established in the role.

About the HTA

The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) has 1,400 members, including garden retailers, growers, landscapers, and suppliers to the garden industry. The HTA lobbies and campaigns for its members within the horticulture industry and has an excellent reputation. It provides its members with the opportunity to learn, be creative, and network with others in the industry.

We have been running the National Garden Gift scheme since 1962. These garden gift cards can be bought and redeemed at HTA Garden centre members sites throughout the UK and can also be purchased online and in some supermarket gift card malls, it is the biggest garden gift card scheme in the country – locking in over £30 million of consumer spend to horticulture and our members’ businesses. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the HTA campaigned to ensure garden centres were classified as essential retail, which has increased the profile of the environmental horticultural industry. The HTA therefore has a very exciting financial model.
