The APL Business Development Programme

In 2025, we devised a business development programme (BDP) that could be purchased in five separate modules. It was a great idea, in that allowed members to drill into specifics, but unfortunately the spread across the modules and the regions made it not viable to run in that format. There was an obvious desire to have a BDP, so we have given it some thought and created a programme that can be achieved in just three days.

How it will run?
Across the programme, you’ll build a practical, high-level Business Plan, piece by piece - covering purpose, customers, financials, operations, and people. You’ll leave with clarity, confidence, and a tailored plan to drive your next stage of growth:
- Day 1: Business Purpose & Customer Experience
- Day 2: Financial management (planning, exercise and reviewing)
- Day 3: Operations, People & Your Plan
Who Should Attend?
It is aimed at APL Members (business owners and managers, Landscapers, Designers and Professional Gardeners) who want clearer direction, stronger financial performance, and practical tools to improve their business.
Register your interest
There will be two courses run, one in the South (At HTA headquarters in Didcot) and another in the North, (Likely to be around the Chesire area) depending on numbers, we will also look at working with Hotels local to the areas, to be able to continue the training in the evenings by bringing in key speakers. The value in this course over many others is the Peer to Peer discussions and the ability to bring your own businesses to life as you go through the course syllabus.
We aim to run them Feb and March, so I just at this point need an expression of interest from you. Minimum numbers to run are 6, max is 10 per course.
The last course was £205 + vat per day, so to do the whole course it was great value at just £1025 + vat.
We have worked even harder to deliver this one and have brought a member's price down to just £185 + vat / day for members meaning that the entire course is just £555+ vat
