The HTA has launched the Grower Support Campaign to benefit and nurture the HTA Grower membership. We have developed a range of opportunities for you to network, learn and develop as a business.

HTA Nursery Network

The HTA Nursery Network is a new opportunity for HTA grower members to come together and exchange ideas and views, within a commercial environment, to both progress and develop individual businesses and the ornamentals industry. Meetings take place twice a year, once in the winter and on a member nursery during the summer.

Basic Principles of Ornamental Nursery Management

A new 8 module eLearning course created to cover the basics of nursery management. This course has been designed by growers for growers and will support training of new recruits into the industry as well as supporting development and retention of existing staff. This course will take the learner on a comprehensive journey, focusing on the following subjects: Plant Physiology, Pests and Diseases, Growing Media and Potting, Propagation, Pruning, Nutrition and Feeding, Weeding and Watering. The course will be officially launched at NPS in June.

Grower Technical Workshops

A series of workshops have been created in association with Zest-ICM, covering a range of technical topics, many of them with a focus on sustainability. All the workshops will be nursery-based, aiming to provide practical and pragmatic recommendations, based on previous research, recent developments, or current best practice. Each workshop will involve technical experts and contain presentations, demonstrations and a chance to view on site trials.

HTA Grower Technical Support covers a range of areas including crop protection, sustainability matters such as peat-free growing media adoption and water use efficiency, cultural and crop production issues and the latest research and news.
