Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is a policy that makes producers responsible for the costs of managing a product's packaging when it is disposed of at the end of its lifecycle.

Extended Producer Responsibility will affect retailers, nurseries, manufacturers and suppliers differently so you MUST understand how it will apply to your business, and what you need to do to comply. As of 1st January 2023, obligated businesses need to be collecting packaging data, and businesses with a fee-paying obligation need to begin reporting from July 2023. The government portal will only open up for use as of August 2023. On 25th July Defra announced a delay to the implementation of EPR fees from October 2024 to October 2025...
