Supporting Greenfingers Charity
We're extremely proud and grateful to be able to use the National Garden Gift Voucher scheme to raise the profile and support Greenfingers Charity.
Greenfingers designs and builds magical gardens at hospices for children with serious illnesses. The gardens are a place to play in, relax, or to enjoy with family during a very stressful time. It can be easy to take the simple pleasure of being able to enjoy a garden for granted; but for these children and their families, the chance to spend time together outdoors and away from the bedside is precious.
How does National Garden Gift Vouchers help Greenfingers?
Awareness raising - The point of sale for National Garden Gift Vouchers carries the Greenfingers logo. The point of sale is all free for garden centres, and if every garden centre puts some up we have the potential to put Greenfingers Charity in front of millions of consumers.
National Children's Gardening Week - we've teamed up with Greenfingers Charity to support this campaign. The week and the build up to it is all about promoting the benefits of gardens to the public in partnership with the industry. Our 'Garden Party for Greenfingers' activity can be enjoyed by families whilst raising funds for Greenfingers - please do share it with colleagues and customers.
Raising funds - 1% of HTA's commission (essentially our gross profit) on sales of the gift card format of National Garden Gift Vouchers will be donated to Greenfingers Charity. The cost of this is met through HTA's existing operating budgets and does not involve any additional cost or contribution from our member businesses. We also prompt shoppers in our online store to make a 50p donation to Greenfingers when they complete their purchase. A high proportion do so, raising thousands of pounds per year.
Moving forward together
We're glad to be able to use the National Garden Gifting schemes to be able to promote such an important aspect of gardening and such a fantastic charity. You can help very easily; it's as easy as getting involved with initiatives like National Children's Gardening Week, using your free point of sale that features Greenfingers, or simply sending us any ideas you have for how we could make more use of the gifting schemes to support this great charity - we'd love to hear from you!
