Growing a Green Economy

HTA and industry partners have produced a report assessing the many ways horticulture boosts the UK's economy. It includes predictions of horticulture's impact on the economy till 2030. Key findings include: £28.2billion contribution to national GDP in 2019 which could reach £41.8billion in 2030; 674,200 jobs supported across the country which is estimated to increase to 763,400 in 2030.

The Economic Impact of Ornamental Horticulture and Landscaping in the UK

HTA and industry partners produced a report assessing the many ways horticulture boosts the UK's economy. It also describes the many benefits on physical health, mental wellbeing and social and environmental issues. Key findings include: £24.2billion contribution to national GDP in 2017; 568,700 jobs supported across the country; 25.5million tonnes of C02 was removed from the atmosphere by vegetation in 2015.
