A week of events this half term to celebrate National Children’s Gardening Week with The World of Peter Rabbit™

23 May 2024

Garden retailers across the UK have lined up an exciting series of events for National Children’s Gardening Week to encourage families out into the garden and to Grow with Peter Rabbit this May half term from 25 May to 2 June 2024.

This May half term, National Children’s Gardening Week has partnered with The World of Peter Rabbit.  Not only will there be free Grow with Peter Rabbit activity booklets available for customers to collect from participating garden centres packed full of mischievous and fun activities, but there will also be a range of events taking place to encourage children to explore the wonder of gardening.

Events include Mini Magical Gardens; a terrarium workshop at Yarnton Home & Garden in Oxfordshire where children will learn how these fascinating self-contained mini gardens work and create their own to take home.  Kershaws Garden Centre in West Yorkshire will host Paint a Pot, free seed planting and a craft morning. Gordon Rigg Garden Centre in Walsden are running gardening-themed crafts and a Peter Rabbit treasure hunt. Lay of the Land Garden Centre in Yorkshire are hosting a seed-sowing event where children can plant sunflowers, beans and pumpkins. Moss and Moor are holding a ‘Create your own mini garden safari’ event where children can explore the diverse world of garden bugs and their vital role in our ecosystem.
