Excitement builds as speaker line up announced for Garden Press Event 2025

The speaker line-up for the Collaboration & Innovation Zone at the 2025 Garden Press Event has been revealed.  Over 400 members of the garden media have already pre-registered to attend this highly anticipated event which takes place on Tuesday, 18 February, at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London.  

Jointly organised by the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) and GIMA, the Garden Press Event marks the start of the spring gardening season and offers a unique opportunity for businesses to connect face-to-face with members of the garden press, showcase new products, and share industry stories. 

 

Speaker Line-Up in Collaboration with the Garden Media Guild 

The Collaboration & Innovation Zone will feature an impressive line-up of speakers, including: 

Introduction from Fran Barnes, HTA Chief Executive Officer and Vicky Nuttall, GIMA Director 

  • Michael Perry: Gardening’s original 'Mr Plant Geek' 

Michael Perry, widely known as "Mr. Plant Geek," is arguably one of gardening’s first true digital influencers. We are delighted that he has agreed to share insights about his journey and his perspective on the future of influencers and content creators.

  • ‘A conversation with British Garden Centres’ - Amy Stubb

British Garden Centres is growing! Amy Stubbs will be discussing all things business growth and opportunities for this year as they are now the UK’s largest garden centre group

  • BBC Gardeners' World events - what's new for 2025? - Nick Baile

Join BBC Two Gardeners’ World presenter Nick Bailey as he shares exclusive insights into his Headline Show Garden for BBC Gardeners’ World Live 2025. Hosted by Gardeners’ World Magazine editor Kevin Smith, the session also features the team from Young People in Horticulture who will unveil their new Begonia that'll debut at the Show. Plus, updates on the new Hillier Experience Garden at the Spring Fair.

  • ‘David Austin Roses – The News’ - Liam Beddall'

Liam will discuss the lasting appeal and significance of English roses, exploring their place in modern horticulture. He’ll also provide an update on developments at David Austin Roses, focusing on the company’s ongoing work to both preserve and evolve the legacy of these iconic blooms. 

  • Bronte Heritage Collection: Professional Products for Professional Results  - Martin Donnely'

Bronte Heritage collection will be presenting six new professional grade products which have been tried and tested commercially and are now available to the gardening public. All six products are designed to be used in conjunction with peat free growing mediums. 

  • ‘Introducing Hota. A fresh approach to plant design on your smartphone’ by Toby and Hannah Gale

Co-founders Hannah and Toby will walk through the inspiration and   evolution of the new plant recommendation and design app Hota. From  Soil ID, plant recommendations and design to their recent partnership  with Proctors Nursery.   

 

Awards and Recognition 

The event will also include the announcement of the 2025 New Product Awards voted for by the visiting press and media, and Best Stand Display. Exhibitors are invited to showcase their latest innovations and enter the New Product Awards for an exclusive opportunity to gain recognition in front of the gardening media.
