A vision for Wales
The HTA represents 85 member businesses across Wales and nearly 1,400 horticulture organisations across the entire supply chain of the UK's environmental horticulture and gardening industry. This included garden centres, trees and plant growers, landscapers , manufactures and service providers. The HTA also manage the National Garden Gift Card programme which is popular amongst the UK's 30 million gardeners.
The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) launched their Welsh Environmental Horticulture Growth Strategy: A vision for Wales on the 24 July 2024. The HTA’s Growth Strategy has eight key aims and outcomes for Wales:
The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA), supported by retailer member The Old Railway Line, met with Senedd Members (MSs) at its first event of bringing blooms into the Senedd. Following the success of similar drop-ins in Westminster, the HTA set up the event to take plants, seeds, and the value of Welsh environmental horticulture directly to policymakers. Meeting over 20 Senedd Members and staff provided an opportunity to champion the voice of HTA members in Wales and discuss some of their top issues.
