Growing Media Monitor
We collaborate to share research into what components UK growing media uses, and how it can become more sustainable.
UK Growing Media monitor
This study, co-funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) reports on changes in the volume of different components used in UK growing media. A report covering years 2011 to 2022 is provided, along with the full detailed data for these years.
In June 2024 we issued a correction to the published data in the Growing Media Monitor, and communicated this to Defra, AHDB, and environmental NGOs. Full details of this correction are available in the downloadable spreadsheet.
